Accessing and viewing your audit logs

  • To view audit logs go to the “Files” tab and select the “logs” folder.
  • Select either the Login, Transfer or Delete option log and download. You can sort by selecting the column headers in the detail pane: name, size, modified, date, etc.

Login log details

Select the file you want to view and download. Please note that the files are stored by date. An example of a login audit log is shown below.

The following fields are available for login audit logs:

Field Name Description
Date (UTC) Date and time stored in UTC format
Status Failure or success of login
Username All users that have logged into the account for that date
Email Email of all users that have logged into the account for that date
Source https shows for browser logins, ftp/ftps/sftp shows for FTP client logins
IP IP address of the login source

 

File transfer log details

Select the file you want to view and download. Please note that the files are stored by date. An example of a file transfer audit log is shown below.

The following fields are available for file transfer audit logs:

Field Name Description
Date (UTC) Date and time stored in UTC format
Transfer Username Username of the user of specific transfer file activity in the account for that date
Transfer Email Email of the user of specific transfer file event in the account for that date
Owner Username Username of the owner of the folder associated with file transfer event
Owner Email Email of the owner of the folder associated with file transfer event
Type Specifies whether the event was an upload or download
Size Size of the file transferred measured in bytes
Folder Name of the folder where file transfer event took place
File Name of file in file transfer event
Source Method of protocol
IP IP address of the transfer username/email

 

Delete log details

Select the file you want to view and download. Please note that the files are stored by date. An example of a delete audit log is shown below.

The following fields are available for delete logs:

Field Name Description
Date (UTC) Date and time stored in UTC format
Deleted by username Username that has deleted the file
Deleted by email Email that has deleted the file
Owner username Username who owns the files
Owner email Email who owns the files
Type Specifies the type of delete, i.e. entire folder or single file
Size Size of the file/folder measured in bytes
Folder Name of the folder
File Name of the file
Source Protocol that the user deleted the file/folder by
IP IP address of the user who deleted the file/folder
