Configure any standard FTP client (Filezilla, etc.) to connect using the open FTP protocol. Please note this connection type transmits data in plain text. If you require a secure connection click here. You can also run FTP scripts.
Use the following details to connect. For IP addresses click Here.
Field | Values | Notes |
Host | ftp.hostedftp.com or
yourdomain.hostedftp.com or ftp.yourdomain.com |
The Hosted~FTP~ service will connect your FTP client to the nearest location. |

Ports (for open FTP) | FTP: 21, 1200-2000
|
For basic FTP, ports 21, 1200 – 2000 must be open (these ports are also used when connecting with FTPS) |
Transfer Mode | We support both active and passive mode. We recommend choosing a passive mode (PASV) to minimize issues with firewalls that block FTP connections |
If you are unable to connect using passive mode, please note that in addition to port 21 we use ports 1200 to 2000 for data transfers. You may need to update your firewall configuration to allow access to ports 21 and 1200 to 2000 for the TCP/IP protocol. Please see this link for further details on the differences between active and passive mode. |
