Setting up your FTP workspace is important to ensure fast, effective and proper use of your FTP site. Hosted~FTP~ provides each user with their own workspace to upload files, organize files using folders, and send files to others. Your shared files are all stored in the Amazon Cloud (using S3) where they are secure, thoroughly backed up, and are always available.
By selecting the desired folder and clicking the “Share” button (see image), you will share all sub-folders and files in that directory.
Sending a file or folder will only send the files during that timestamp. If you updated any files or folders, you will have to send it again.
The sharing function will continuously update. It will add or change files and folders continuously. If you updated any files or folders, the shared recipient will have access to it immediately.
You can create as many folders as you need. Folders can be added, renamed, moved, and deleted using the menu links on the Files Tab.
Setting up FTP folders will help you properly share access and permissions without jeopardizing the integrity of your files. Learn the recommended folder setup for your FTP remote site using our 4 step process called F.U.S.N. It stands for Folder Structure, Usernames, Sharing, and Notifications. Utilizing F.U.S.N will ensure your folder structure is properly configured to restrict users to specific folders, setup usernames with managed settings, share and enable email notifications.
