Share folders in your HostedFTP account to give users or contacts access to specific folders and files. Sharing a folder allows you to specify what kind of permissions each user or contact has on the shared folder. In addition, you can set email notifications for uploads or downloads for yourself or other users. To share a folder, follow the instructions below:
Sharing a folder
Go to the Files Tab to create or configure a folder.
Click “New folder” located on the right hand menu and name the new folder.
Alternatively, you can select a current folder to share and skip to the next step.
Select the folder you want to share and click the share button.
In the share screen, click “Add contacts”.
You can add users/contacts by specifying a username, contact name or email address or you can click “Add contacts” again to select multiple users/contacts from your list.
At the bottom of the “Add contacts” screen, use the drop down menu to bulk set permissions and notifications
Click “Continue”.

After you’ve shared a folder with a user/contact, scroll down to your list of users/contacts.
Use the drop down menu’s located beside their username to change their individual permissions and notifications.
Enable notifications for yourself as the folder owner
Select the folder you want to enable email notifications.
Click the “Share” button to open the share screen.
In the share screen, underneath Sharing, check “notify me when contacts”.
Use the drop down menu to select the email notification option.
