1. From the Files page highlight
the folder you want to share and click the “Share” button
2. Update the Name and Description as needed. The Name you choose will
be used as the folder name for people who anonymously access the folder.
3. Check the box “Allow anonymous access to this folder” and choose the
desired permission level from the list – Read, Write, or Read / Write
4. Click the Save button
Anonymous access settings for distributing applications
There are 2 options that need to be set for distributing applications and
executable (see below). The setting “Display downloaded files directly in
browser” should display files directly, play digital files and execute
applications on download if supported by the browser, The “Hide folder….”
setting ensures that web spiders cannot find your files without the specific
path giving you privacy.
Use any FTP client to connect anonymously to access your folders. Connection
details:
Host: ftp.hostedftp.com
Logontype: Anonymous
Default remote directory: /~username
a) Be sure to include the ~ (tilde) character before your username
b) “username” can be found and updated on the Setup page
How to download files from anonymous folders using HTTPS
In your browser’s address bar, type:
https://ftp.hostedftp.com/~username/shared_folder_name/path_to_file
a) “username” can be found and updated on the Setup page
b) “shared_folder_name” is the name you give to the public folder on the
Sharing page, not required to be the same as the name of the folder itself
c) “path_to_file” is the relative path to the file you want to download
Example
#1: Your username is “ExampleCompany” and you’ve created an
anonymous folder called “ExampleFolder”. Inside “ExampleFolder” there is a file called
“examplefile.jpg”. You can download this file at: ftp://hftptutorial.hostedftp.com/~ExampleCompany/ExampleFolder/examplefile

#2: Your username is “ExampleCompany” and you’ve created an
anonymous folder called “Examplefolder”. Inside “ExampleFolder” there is another folder
called “SecurityInfo”, and inside “SecurityInfo” there is a file called
