Drag and drop is supported on Windows for all major web browsers. Support for Mac is available only on the Safari web browser.
Install/Update Java:
Drag and drop runs as a Java applet inside your web browser. Please visit the link below to confirm that the latest version of Java is installed on your computer. This link provides step-by-step instructions to install Java for the first time, or to update Java to the latest version:
http://www.java.com/en/download/testjava.jsp
A confirmation message (see example below) will verify that you are at the right java version.
Once you’ve confirmed that Java is installed and up to date, disable drag and drop (if currently enabled) and then attempt to re-enable it.
Disable drag and drop:
1) Login to Hosted~FTP~ and go to the “Setup” tab
2) If drag and drop is enabled, you will see a checked option “Enable drag and drop”
3) If you see this option, uncheck it and click “Save”. If you do not see the option, drag and drop is already disabled.
Re-enable drag and drop:
1) Login to Hosted~FTP~ and go to the “Setup” tab
2) Look for the “Enable drag and drop” button. If you do not see this button, then drag and drop is already enabled. Disable using the instructions above and then re-enable.
3) Click the “Enable drag and drop” button and follow the on screen instructions
4) You will see a “Congratulations!” screen after drag and drop is successfully enabled
If you are not able to successfully enable drag and drop, try re-starting your computer and repeating the steps above. If you are still unable to enable drag and drop, please submit a support ticket, or send an email to support@hostedftp.com, including the following information:
1) Email address you use to login to Hosted~FTP~
2) Operating system (Windows / Mac) and version
3) Web browser (Internet Explorer / Firefox / Chrome / Safari) and version
4) Java status (Available at http://www.java.com/en/download/testjava.jsp)
5) Brief description of the problem or error you encounter.
