The following article will guide you through uploading files with an FTP client. FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol and is a method of secure communication between your computer/device and a web server. The basic idea is to first establish a connection with: our server > your computer > and then FTP to upload files.
For the purpose of this tutorial, we are going to make use of FileZilla as an FTP client to upload files from your local site (Your computer) to the remote site (Cloud).
|The first thing you need to do is establish a connection with your Hosted~FTP~ account. For basic FTP you can refer to this link. For a secure encrypted FTP connection, you can refer to this link. Upon successful connection, you will see a screen with messages like this.|
|Local site – on the left-hand side, shows your local files and folders on your computer or device.|
|Remote site – on the right-hand side, shows your remote files and folders in your FTP server.
