Using the Reports Tab

Hosted~FTP~’s Reports tab is a real-time reporting tool available to Enterprise+ customers. This feature allows admins to generate and export reports, save custom report templates and query users login activity and file transfers at the account level.

The Reports tab is available only for administrators and is located in the menu ribbon next to the Setup tab.

Report The type of report to run
Main Filter After selecting the report type, you can filter general events in this drop-down menu

 

(i.e. Selecting all events as the report type, you can select delete as a main filter)

Sub-filter After selecting a main filter, the sub-filter drop-down menu will show even more detailed events

 

(i.e. Having delete as the main filter, you can further specify what kind of delete events you want to find: files, folders, overwrites, policies, syncs)

Users Allows you to filter events related to the specific user(s)
Date Range Select a time in the drop-down menu or find the filtered events in a date range you specify
Advanced Advanced commands to input (contact our support team to assist in advanced commands)
Run Runs the report with the selected filters and
Export Exports the current report into an excel/csv format
Save Saves the current report filters into the Saved section to run again easily. Useful for frequently ran reports.

 

Types of Events

Main Report Type Main filter  Sub-filter Description
All Events Shows all events in the account
ADD
ADD_ACCOUNT Shows all created users
DELETE
DELETE_FILE Shows all deleted files
DELETE_FOLDER Shows all deleted folders
OVERWRITE_FILE Shows all deleted files that were overwritten
POLICY_DELETE_FILE Shows all deleted files due to a file retention policy
SYNC_DELETE_FILE Shows all deleted files from a sync function
LOGIN Leaving the sub-filter blank will result in showing all login events
LOGIN_CAPTCHA_FAILURE Shows all login events that failed from captcha
LOGIN_CAPTCHA_SUCCESS Shows all login events that were successful from captcha
LOGIN_FAILURE Shows all logins that failed
LOGIN_LOCK Shows login attempts that were locked
LOGIN_PENDING_MFA Shows login attempts that are pending MFA authentication
LOGIN_RATE Shows users who have hit the login rate per minute
LOGIN_SUCCESS Shows successful logins
LOGIN_RATE Shows users who have hit the login rate per minute
MAIL Shows mail events

QUOTA_ACCOUNT_BANDWIDTH Shows events where the account’s bandwidth limit was reached
QUOTA_ACCOUNT_FILE_COUNT Shows events where the account’s file count limit was reached
QUOTA_ACCOUNT_FOLDER_COUNT Shows events where the account’s folder count limit was reached
QUOTA_ACCOUNT_MAX_FILE_SIZE Shows events where the account’s max file size limit was reached
QUOTA_ACCOUNT_STORAGE Shows events where the account’s storage limit was reached
QUOTA_CONTACT_STORAGE Shows events where contacts reached their given storage quota
QUOTA_GROUP_BANDWIDTH Shows events where groups reached their given bandwidth quota
QUOTA_GROUP_STORAGE Shows events where groups reached their given storage quota
QUOTA_USER_BANDWIDTH Shows events where users reached their given bandwidth quota
QUOTA_USER_STORAGE Shows events where users reached their given storage quota
TRANSFER Shows all transfer events
TRANSFER_FILE Shows all upload/download file events
TRANSFER_MAIL Shows all upload/download mail events
Bandwidth Shows bandwidth usage of users in a specific date range

 

How to run a saved report

  1. Click on the Saved sub-header to go to your saved reports
  2. Add a new saved report first, or click on a previously saved report
  3. In the report’s settings click on the Run button
