Enterprise T2/T5/T10 accounts have an additional security level feature. Hosted~FTP~ provides IP whitelisting at the account level as well as each individual user level. This feature is managed by the account Admin as well as by the Operational administrators on the account.
Once IP whitelisting is enabled the user must be coming from the IP addresses specified, otherwise they will experience login failures. The account or operational admin(s) must be contacted to correct the situation.
Enter the IP address(es) of the location where the user will log in from. If there are several locations, enter the multiple IP addresses separated by commas, space, semi-colon or colon. You can also specify “CIDR address ranges” (see link)
Multiple IP addresses: 126.96.36.199,188.8.131.52 0.113.200.201;184.108.40.206:220.127.116.11
CIDR ranges: 18.104.22.168/24
The steps below describe overall account level IP whitelisting that will be applied to all users that login to the account. Note that only the account administrator can set whitelisting at the overall account level.
Login as the account administrator > Setup Tab > Scroll down to the bottom of the Options list
|Check the box under Options: Apply IP whitelist (applies to all users in account)|
|Step 3. Enter the IP address(es) and/or CIDR range in the text box area and click Save.|
The steps below describe user level IP whitelisting that can be applied to specific users that login to the account. Note that both account administrator and operations administrators can set whitelisting at the individual user level. This whitelisting overrides the account level whitelisting.
|Login as the account administrator or operations administrator > Users Tab.|
|Select the user you want to add IP whitelisting by using the search function or locating the user in the list.|
|Opening up the user’s settings, scroll down to Options and check the box: Apply IP whitelist (overrides account level setting)
Enter the IP address(es) and/or CIDR range in the text box area and click Save.
