Setup Tab

Use the setup tab to configure your own user account.

Home Link

Reveals all user settings and information. Allows any user with access to the setup tab to change their user settings i.e change password, change username, change email. Managed users and contacts do not have the ability to access the setup tab.

Feature Description
Change Username Change username used to access user’s account.
Password Change Change password used to access user’s account.
Change Email Change the email address associated with the account. Also changes where notifications are sent.
Time Zone Specify the time zone for the user (affects time stamps for logs).
Country Specify the geographic location for the user.
Language Specify the language of the user.
Admin Change the admin by using the drop down menu to change the selected user. The user must have an email to be the admin of the account.
Signature Create a signature to appear at the end of each file sent. The account level signature typically contains references to confidentiality, privacy, copyright policy and general contact information.
Force FTPS/SFTP Force user to connecting using secure FTPS or SFTP protocols when using FTP client.
Delete mail after Delete mail events (located in the Home tab) after a certain amount of days.
Show mail in FTP folder Show all mail events in the specified folder. By default the folder will be called mail.

Default FTP folder Force the user into a specific folder upon login using a web browser by specifying the default FTP folder ex: hostedftp.
Default FTP folderNOTE: User will still need to specify default remote directory/default FTP folder in FTP client.
Save import results in FTP folder Enable and specify import results into specified folder.
Imports
Create logs in FTP folder Creates logs of all account logins and/or file transfers into a specified FTP folder using CSV and/or Excel documentation. By default the folder will be called logs.

Notify me when
(Sent, received, both)
Enable notifications upon successful sent and/or received mail event.

Ask a security question during a password reset Specify a security question and answer upon password reset to add additional security measures.
Add an attachment with download instructions Adds download instructions to every sent file. Recipients will receive the download instructions in their email inbox.
(only works for recipients that have an email specified)
Use a public key for SFTP authentication Enable and set up PKI keys for this user.

 

Branding Link

Use the branding link to change the logo, color scheme, favicon, subdomain name, logo redirect URL, Hostname and other branding features.

Feature Description
Apply default settings Resets all branding to its initial HostedFTP default.
Name The name of the account.
NOTE: The title appear as the title in the web plugin.
Sever Enter the address to use (i.e ftp.yourdomain.com) when connecting to your FTP site with a FTP client. You will need to change your DNS settings to include a CNAME record pointing ftp.yourdomain.com to us1.hostedftp.com.
Web Change Customize your own hostname for connecting to your remote site via any FTP client.
URL Redirects anyone who clicks on your logo to the URL specified. NOTE: Must include “https://” before the URL.
Colors (HEX)
Header, Background, Link
Change the color of the header, background and links by using 6 digit HEX color codes.
Popup Change the size and dimension of mail event pop ups.
Logo Add a logo to your account. The recommended logo size should be no bigger than 400 x 400 pixels but can be as big or small as you needed.
Favicon Add a favicon to your account. The favicon is a small logo that appears in the web browser or next to a bookmark.
Signature Create a signature to appear at the end of each message you send. This account level signature typically contains references to confidentiality, privacy, copyright policy and general contact information.
