Uploading and Downloading Files

Troubleshooting FAQ

I don't see an Upload button

After going to the Files tab > locate the folder you want to upload into > find the Upload button on the right.

If you cannot see one, you do not have the proper permissions to upload a file and will require changes to be done by the folder owner.

I cannot download any files

After going to the Files tab > locate the folder you want to download from > select a single file or to download the entire folder, click the Download button.

If you cannot see one, you do not have the proper permissions to download a file and will require changes to be done by the folder owner.

I get an error when uploading a file

There are multiple reasons why you are unable to upload a file. The account admin has full visibility on why. Here are some common problems:

1. You are uploading into the wrong directory. Most users are restricted from uploading into their own folders, so make sure the right one is selected.

2. You have reached a quota limit. Whether it is a storage, bandwidth, file size, or file count issue based on your user restrictions or entire account subscription limit – the account administrator will be able to assess the situation.

I did not get any email notifications

Email notifications are managed by the folder owner. Make sure that you have the right settings to be notified for new uploads, downloads, or both.

If this setting is enabled and you are not receiving emails – make sure that the Hosted~FTP~ system isn’t being blocked by any firewalls, etc. IP whitelist our email system, and our domain name to make sure they are being delivered. More info here.

My files are uploaded but I can't see anything

Based on your permissions, with write-only access, you are able to upload files into the folder, but cannot view any files.

The folder owner, however, can provide users with email notifications so they can be notified of a successful upload.
