Branding Tutorial – Logo, color scheme, hostname and more

Add a Logo

To add a logo to your HostedFTP account, follow the instructions below:

  1. Go to the Setup Tab, and click the Branding link.
  2. Scroll down to “Logo” and click “Choose file” to search your local site for your logo.
    The recommended logo size should be no bigger 300 x 400 pixels but it can be as big or small as desired.
  3. Save.

Customize your Color Scheme

Customize the header, link and background colors by specifying 6 digit HEX codes in the appropriate fields. Need help finding your HEX colors? Use adobe color wheel  to find your color scheme or an image color picker to find your exact HEX codes. To upload your logo, follow the instructions below:

  1. Find your HEX color codes.
  2. Insert the appropriate HEX codes into the header, background or links fields.
  3. Save.

Add a Favicon

Favicons are mini icons that appear on the browser’s tab or bookmark. Favicons should be no bigger than 16 x 16 pixels. To upload your favicon, follow the instructions below.

  1. Scroll down to Favicon and select Choose File.
  2. Browse your local site to find your image and press ok to upload your icon.
  3. Save.

Customize your Sub-domain

Type your customized sub-domain into any browser to land on your branded login screen. This is typically used to send users to your branded login screen and hide HostedFTP from your business processes. To customize your sub-domain, follow the instructions below:

  1. Scroll down to Web and click Change. This will redirect you to the Account tab where you can input your desired sub-domain name.
  2. Click save.

Customize your Server (Hostname)

A customized server (hostname) will allow you to gain access to your HostedFTP account, in a FTP client, by using your branded hostname. This is typically used to hide HostedFTP from your business processes. To customize your Server (hostname), follow the instructions below:

  1. Insert your desired server/hostname in the Server field.
  2. In your website’s DNS settings, create a CNAME record that points your desired server/hostname to the Web sub-domain.

Add a URL redirect

A URL redirect will direct a user to the specified URL when they click your logo. To add a URL redirect, follow the instructions below:

  1. Scroll down to URL
  2. Insert “https://” then your desired URL.
  3. Save.

Add an Account Signature

An account signature is a message that is attached to any sent files, shares or email notifications. When a user receives an email notification, the account signature will appear at the bottom of the email. Typically an account signature is used to disclose confidentiality, privacy, copyright policies and general contact information. To add an account signature, follow the instructions below:

  1. Scroll down to the Signature field.
  2. Insert your signature.
  3. Save.
