Contacts Tab

Use the Contacts tab to review your current list of contacts and manage, add, configure or import multiple contacts simultaneously.

What is a Contact?

Contacts are 3rd party recipients not part of your account, who have limited control. Contacts cannot own any data and must be given permissions to upload or send files. Contacts cannot create folders, manage permissions, add contacts or use other features. Learn about the difference between a Contact and a User.

Reveals your current list of contacts and allows you to add and import contacts.

Feature Description
Search Find a specific contact by searching their email address or username.
Contact List View all current contacts and their username, email address, storage usage, ability to send mail and any storage quotas.
Contact A contact in your account. Click to view, manage or delete contact settings and information.
Add Add a new contact by email address or by existing username.
Import Contacts Add multiple contacts, users or shared folders simultaneously.

 

Adding a Contact

Add a new contact by email address or by existing username. More about Adding Contacts

Feature Description
Add Contact by
(Email/Username)
Toggle between email or username using the drop-down menu to specify how you would like to add a new contact.
Email/Username Specify the recipient’s email address or username to add them as a contact.
Name Configure and specify the name of the contact that will appear in the Contacts tab.
Active Activate or deactivate a contact. Deactivated contacts cannot access their account, send or receive files and will stop receiving email notifications.
Allow Contact to send Mail Enable or disable a contact’s ability to send mail. Mail can only be sent to users where the contact exists on their list.
Import Contacts Add multiple contacts, users or shared folders simultaneously.
Add a Storage Quota Set a storage quota to limit the maximum amount of storage a contact can occupy in your remote site.
Require Password Login when Downloading Files Force the contact to use a password before being able to download files.

 

Import Contacts in Bulk

Add multiple contacts, users or shared folders simultaneously by specifying an email address or existing username.

Feature Description
Import Type Change the import type between contacts, users and shared folders.
Address Field Add multiple contacts simultaneously by adding email addresses (one per line).

 

What are Lists?

A list is a group of contacts that you can send, request (i.e. receive) or share folders simultaneously. View all Lists currently in your account and allows you to create and manage existing Lists.

Feature Description
Lists Shows all current lists, their names, members and description.
A List A group of contacts that you can send, request
(i.e receive) or share folders. Select a list to open options.
Add (List) Description: Create a new list of contacts.

 

Creating a List

Create a group of contacts that can be used to send, request or share folders simultaneously.
Add List

Feature Description
Name Specify and configure the name of the list.
Description Add a description for the list.
Add (Contacts) Click add contacts to select from your list of current contacts.
